Message	From all your responses, you seem pretty dead set...so I would just say take the advice of everyone here, compressions, get a VIN report, find out EXACTLY what it's been through... And, if at all possible, take it to someone who knows the cars well - might save you a lot of money by spending a little now... I know how the search is...I'm dying to buy one, though I haven't been able to yet...this past summer, I was to the point of writing the check when I decided I should listen to the advice posted here (was a black 1990 TT, $4k)... I followed through with it about 4 months ago - I'm VERY glad I didn't buy it...I'm not saying walk away - just saying make sure it's worth it...and good luck!
